Part 3 of this series took me to sunday, the finale to my weekend. This post is saturday, the day of full fledged concerts in NYC. Incredible shows in Williamsburg Park that included the super funky african group Antibales followed by the always awe inspiring Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings. She is called the god mother of soul and for good reason. Gyrating, dancing and belting some real core funky r&b. My night was topped off with my compadre from Greenwood Coalition and Bastard Jazz coming together for a reggae show down the street after the park performance at a dark speakeasy. Dub reggea tunes belting and the beer flowing. I was lucky enough to have my camera handy and was able to capture some of the day. Apologies for not being in the thick of things like I usually am but with another couple thousand people around me I can only be so close. Thank god for my 85mm lens that day. Most of these shots were processed in b&w due to the low light settings and high iso. B&W gave me the clearer photos so I ran with it. I hope you all enjoy part 2 of my epic weekend 🙂
